Hi! Sorry if you already stated this somewhere on the tumblr and I missed it, but is this still open for people to join? I'd certainly like to participate, if possible.

You’re actually really lucky, there’s just enough time to participate right now before I begin the process of sending the notebook.

All you need to do is give me your personal mailing address, I will under no circumstances make it public and the only people who will be seeing it are those involved in the project.

Minor left4derp update, IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME!

I haven’t forgotten about the project and after speaking with milchkarton I’ve decided to send the book out to the U.S. in the meantime before pushing it over onto Europe.

I will write a list up of all the U.S. addresses for myself to set an order of delivery, if you are the closest person to me I will be contacting you ahead of time before I send out the package, and give everyone who participated the address of the person to send it to next. We’ll do this until the notebook gets sent to everyone within the United States before reversing it back along the chain so that people can engage in an oekaki of sorts.

If you have problems with shipping fees you can contact me when the issue rises, otherwise I look forward to finally starting this fan project off for the new year!

How many pages are we allowed to draw on?

How many pages are we able to draw on?

There are 192 pages so technically everyone can have about nine pages, but I would prefer for there to be a minimum of four to five per person.

The reason for that decision is because it makes it may take a larger amount of time for artists to fill up all of their pages, some of us work slower than others, and it cuts down the time it takes to deliver it to the next person. I also want to leave a few pages open for people to simply collaborate on with other artists, think of it as a big oekaki board, so that you can get involved with other people.

I’ll also be leaving two of my three personal pages open for people to write suggestions/ideas for other artists to use, in the case that you are experiencing an art block. It’s here that you can help other artists or simply bounce ideas off one another for fun.

LIST OF ARTISTS

This is the most recent list of people I have written down that have confirmed (are certain they are participating and aren’t in the grey area) but I will update with a final list a few days before I send out the notebook.

I will also be personally leaving a message in your ask box in the future to confirm again before I write you down on the permanent roster.

RULES

What is allowed?

1. Since this is a left4dead 1 + 2 fan project I think it would make more sense if the project kept on track and simply involved all of the characters from the first two games. In other words no original characters, however, it is acceptable to have parodies of other games/movies/tv shows or cross overs (ex: left4dead 2 meets dead rising, etc.).

2. The maximum rating is strong PG13 or a soft porn R rating. When I mean soft porn I mean people making out half naked or hints before you get a cut scene of them laying naked in bed the next day. It’s basically nothing too graphic in the scenario that someone’s parents accidentally get a hold of the book or there are minors participating in the project. We are going to submit a few pages for VALVE to see but for those few pages that are a bit on the unsafe side, we’ll dismiss sending.

We don’t want to creep them out too much.

3. Can I draw on the back of my page in the notebook? The paper inside of the book is durable enough to handle ink/pencil but I would say no, simply because I don’t want to take any risks and have given a fair amount of free pages to draw on. I also have taken into consideration that not all artists apply the same pressure when they draw because for those that draw lightly, there are those that draw like they are carving a pumpkin (I’m guilty of this).

4. If you have any doubts/concerns please contact me with your question/concerns because it’s better to ask then to not have asked at all.
